Whenever I watched YouTube in middle school it was always Key and Peele. I would show all my friends the substitute teacher video and each time laugh so hard my stomach hurt. My favorite name the substitute teacher butchered was Jacqueline. Whenever I meet people with the names Blake, Timothy, Denise, and Aaron I feel like I should pronounce them the way the teacher does. When I meet people with those names, out of habit I ask have you seen this video when he butchers the names? I feel like it is similar to when people come up to me and say have you heard the song sweet Caroline? People will automatically just start singing it. For whoever has those names I feel bad for them and how people will now butcher their names. The fraternity branding one makes me laugh so hard as well. It’s so funny to me how two people can act as so many people and play each role equally as well. Another skit that makes me laugh, but isn’t mentioned is the football roster one called East/West Bowl. It’s very ...

I completely agree that office quotes are everywhere. There is a person on my hall who wears a Dunder Mifflin shirt. I also see the mug Michael Scott has everywhere that says World's Best Boss. When looking for a gif to use, most every feeling can be expressed by someone's face or action from the office. I honestly feel like people who haven’t seen the office will still find Michael Scott yelling “NOOO NOOO NOOO” funny. I found the examples Sonali used about Kevin were very relatable. When my friends and I watched the Office, we tried to be like Kevin as a joke and speak in simpler yet more confusing phrases. It was a very amusing activity which always made everyone laugh. I think the most famous quote that came from the show is Michael saying, “that’s what she said”. People who haven’t even seen the show have caught on to the joke and are probably saying it without knowing the origin of it. Another popular quote I also hear is when Dwight says, “Bears. Beats. Battlestar Galact...

I found all the vines she chose to be very funny. I have not seen many vines in the past so almost all the vines were new to me. I usually don’t find them very funny. I understood about half of them and the others I did not really get. I did not find the first vine that funny because I never saw the movie IT. I am sure I would have understood better if I knew why he was dressed like a clown hiding in the drain. I thought the Wii vine was the funniest. I played Wii sports with my friends when I was younger so I was able to relate better and therefore found it more funny. The third vine I did not find that funny. The fourth vine I found funny because I am very bad at frisbee. I feel like I would definitely throw the frisbee onto the road like Richard did. I thought the music in the 5th vine made it really funny. The speak over saying run also made me laugh. The sixth vine also made me uncomfortable. I don’t find the 7th vine funny. Kermit is cute and I don’t want to see him die. The 8th...

I think the incongruity can be a real root of funniness. I found the skeleton account to be the most persuasive. It’s very interesting that a recurring joke skeleton with different individual jokes inside it can have different reactions. I'm not surprised that all the jokes got different laughs. The joke skeleton may attract the attention of a person, but what truly matters are the individual jokes that the audience can laugh at or even relate to. An example of a joke skeleton I thought of is a recurring skit on Saturday Night Live. There is different recurring skits on the Weekend Update segment, but the one that stood out to me was the Stefon skit. John Mulaney wrote for the skits, and each time the skit tends to have the same idea of the character Stefon talking about what New York’s hottest club for the weekend is. So the joke skeleton is essentially the same on what the hottest club at the moment is. Bill Hader plays Stefon who is a New York local and knows all the weirdest pl...
